DESCRIPTION:When: Thursday and Friday\, April 9th and 10th. 8:30 AM-4:30 PM\nWhere: Missoula County Ecology and Extension (1075 South Ave W\, Missoula\, MT 59801)\, Balsamroot Conference Room \nInstructors: Nancy Berg & Hannah Pepprock\n\nRegister HERE \n\n\nThere is no cost to participate\, however\, to receive a certificate for completing the course you must fully attend both days.\n \nIf you are unable to attend\, please let us know as soon as possible so we can make your spot available to others. \n \n***No call/No shows will be invoiced $50 for the cost of materials.***\n\n\n\nThis workshop is brought to you by Project Tomorrow Montana\, a suicide prevention initiative of United Way of Missoula County\, in partnership with Missoula Public Health.\n\nLivingWorks ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) is a two-day in-person workshop featuring powerful audiovisuals\, discussions\, and simulations.\n\nAt a LivingWorks ASIST workshop\, you’ll learn how to recognize when someone may be thinking about suicide\, and how to provide a skilled intervention and develop a safety plan with the person to connect them to further support. You will also consider how personal and community attitudes about suicide affect someone’s openness to seek help and your ability to provide it.\n\nThis workshop will increase your willingness\, confidence\, and capacity to provide suicide first aid.\n\n\nCEUs: LivingWorks ASIST learners in the US can apply for CEUs with certain professional associations via a third-party company called CEUnits.\n\nThere is more information on CEUs on the Living Works website:\n\n\nGo to www.livingworks.net/evidence-impacts/our-accreditation/\n\n\nScroll down to Continuing Education Units\n\n\nClick on “Learn more”\n\n\nClick on the “Start Here” button to register\n\n\nThe cost for Continuing Education is $78 for 12 hours\, but you will not be charged until you pass the exam and download your certificate. SUMMARY:Memory Loss Converstions
DESCRIPTION:Memory Loss Conversations is an informal\, social group for those adjusting to memory loss or dementia. This group provides a safe space to share conversations with people who understand\, to experience support and encouragement\, and to explore positive ways of living with memory loss. The group is offered Thursdays from 10:00 to 11:00 am. It is facilitated by Patti Holkup of Dementia Friendly Missoula. Participate by telephone or online using Zoom. There is no cost.
